The Network of Australian State and Territory Alcohol and other Drug Peak Bodies (the AOD Peaks Network) represent over 400 non-government alcohol and other drug services operating across Australia. These services employ approximately 10,000 staff and provide annual services, treatment and support to approximately 80,000 individuals, including consumers, family members and significant others, as well as providing or contributing to community development.

Individuals, families and communities across Australia experience harm related to alcohol and other drugs, which impact on the entire health and human services sector.

The AOD Peaks Network’s Federal Election 2016 Position Statement calls for genuine leadership from federal politicians and parties to guide a strategic, collaborative, innovative and effective approach to addressing alcohol and other drug issues. Such an approach must be proactive, evidenced, inclusive and supported by collaboration across sectors, jurisdictions and the community.
