Victorian AOD Peer Workforce Community of Practice
Victorian AOD Peer Workforce Community of Practice
10 December @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreeThe Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC) currently facilitates the Victorian AOD Peer Workforce Community of Practice supported by the Department of Health (DH). The Community of Practice (CoP) for the AOD Peer Workforce supports and cultivates the existing and emerging AOD Peer Workforce and seeks to draw upon the collective knowledge, experiences and resources of our community to provide:
- Continuous professional development
- Collegiate support to underpin sharing, resourcing and collaborative problem solving
- Opportunities for consultation and feedback to enhance the development of the Peer Workforce
The CoP serves as an opportunity to network with other AOD Peer Workers around the state, to celebrate successes, share difficulties, feedback to agency, community and government and explore new opportunities.
The CoP is an important part of networking and professional development for the Victorian AOD Peer Workforce. We encourage agencies to support their AOD Peer Workers to attend as part of their professional practice and support needs. We appreciate the contribution of all agencies involved and acknowledge the investment in the future of the Victorian AOD Peer Workforce.
The Victorian AOD Peer Workforce Community of Practice meets quarterly each year. The next Community of Practice meeting for the Victorian AOD Peer Workforce will be held 10th December 2024.
If you have any queries about the CoP or SHARC’s contribution to AOD Peer Workforce development, know of any paid Victorian AOD Peer Workers or are part of the paid Victorian AOD Peer Workforce and are not a part of the CoP please contact us at peersupport@sharc.org.au to get linked in.
