This webinar will give an overview of motivational interviewing and is part of the University of Sydney’s Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use Comorbidity Project webinar series, which is focused on applying evidence into practice.

This webinar will be presented by: Dr Robert Fullerton (Dual Ph.D. in Clinical and Industrial-Organisational Psychology)

Dr Robert Fullerton is a senior clinical psychologist at Sentient Professional Wellbeing and clinical psychologist at Bondi Doctors. He holds a Dual PhD in Clinical and Industrial-Organisational Psychology from the Alliant International University and has 16 years of experience applying Motivational Interviewing in government-funded, university counselling, and private practice treatment settings. Dr Fullerton is dedicated to building collaborative therapeutic partnerships with clients based on respect for their autonomy, compassion for their ambivalence around change, and belief in the personal strengths they can leverage in service of changing patterns of behaviour that compromise their wellbeing. Dr Fullerton is passionate about using evidence-based interventions, such as psychodynamic, emotion-focused, cognitive behavioural, dialectical behavioural, psychosomatic, and schema therapy to facilitate insight, growth, and enduring change.

By the end of this webinar, attendees will gain:
