The Victorian mental health service system reforms have seen the emergence of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Connects, eight new centres across Victoria designed and delivered by people with a lived experience of supporting family, friends and kin with mental health and/or substance use. A unique partnership between four AOD services Access Health and Community, Inspiro, healthAbility and SHARC has led to the establishment of the North East Metro Connect, supporting families and carers in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne. This presentation will outline the lived/living experience service model, the governance and advisory structure, and how co-design and community engagement continues to inform program development. A copy of our codesign report will be shared with participants.
