In the lead‑up to the global Support. Don’t Punish day of action, Uniting Vic.Tas is hosting an event in Melbourne, From judgment to compassion: Uniting for a supportive response to illicit drug use and possession.  

The session will bring together people with lived and living experience, frontline workers, community organisations and sector leaders to talk about what happens when our first response to drug use is care rather than condemnation.  

Over an hour, speakers will share stories about how stigma plays out in everyday life, what helps people feel safe enough to ask for support, and where services and communities are already showing that a health‑focused, compassionate approach is both possible and effective.  

The event will commence at 11:00 am on Thursday 25 June 2026 at Uniting, Level 4, 130 Lonsdale in Melbourne, and organisations are invited to attend and share this opportunity through their networks. Register through Humanitix here.
