Job Description

  • A unique opportunity to have impact by shaping Windana’s Fundraising Strategy from the ground up.
  • Exciting new permanent/full-time opportunity based in new office in Bentleigh with flexible ways of working.
  • Competitive salary including salary packaging and other benefits and options to enhance your take-home income and lots of other employee benefits.

Windana provides connected services for more people in need.

We provide services across Victoria for adults and young people experiencing alcohol and other drug harms, family violence, mental health challenges and social disadvantage.

Our Model of Care puts clients at the centre of what we do to create positive change in people's lives. We work with families, communities and other organisations to deliver trauma informed, equitable, culturally safe and integrated services based on evidence and practice wisdom.

By intervening early and creating purposeful partnerships, we help clients achieve improved outcomes while reducing demand on acute services. And we are influencing policy, practice and research to help shape better systems for clients. Together, we influence the broader system for a more positive and connected future.

Is this your next career opportunity?

With the upcoming launch of Windana’s Strategic Plan for 2026-30, we are entering an exciting and transformative new phase. We are seeking an experienced Fundraising and Philanthropy Manager to lead the development and implementation of our Fundraising Strategy and help bring this vision to life.

This newly created role is perfect for someone who is excited by the opportunity to shape Windana’s approach to giving from the ground up. You will join a dedicated, energized team committed to creating meaningful and lasting change with people and communities impacted by alcohol and other drugs.

This role will harness the expertise of Windana’s workforce, lived and living experience, stories of change and impact to diversify Windana’s revenue to drive innovation beyond core funding. Working closely with the Executive Team, you will build the relationships, systems, and programs that sustain our impact.

As a member of the Communications and Engagement team reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, you will:

  • Establish long-term and meaningful relationships with funders, philanthropic organisations, corporate partners and high net-worth individuals.
  • Lead the identification and development of funding, grant and tender submissions.
  • Develop best-practice CRM tools and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of Windana’s outcomes and impact reporting.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience in senior fundraising, philanthropy or donor development roles and establishing organisational fundraising capability from the ground up.
  • Experience developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Proven capability in major donor and relationship-based fundraising.
  • Through knowledge of Australian not-for-profit governance and fundraising compliance.
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgement.
  • Strong organisational, systems and reporting capability.
  • Demonstrated experience of building positive professional relationship and fostering collaborations within and across teams.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, or similar area.
  • Ideally experience working in a fundraising capacity in community not-for-profit organisations.
