About the role

We are seeking two motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Trainee Alcohol & Other Drugs Clinicians at our Warrnambool, Victoria location. This full-time position will provide you with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families impacted by alcohol and other drug issues.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide high-quality counselling and support services to clients, including assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing case management
  • Develop and facilitate group programs and workshops focused on addiction recovery and relapse prevention
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, community organisations, and referral agencies to ensure holistic care for clients
  • Maintain detailed client records and contribute to the organisation's data collection and reporting requirements
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in the alcohol and other drugs field

Key Selection Criteria

  • Perform duties within the scope of practice of the role
  • The ability to make sound organisational and clinical decisions under supervision of a mentor
  • A passion for providing and delivering a high level of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate a clear vision and expectations required by the multidisciplinary team.
  • The ability to problem solve, use initiative and display sound judgement
  • Contribute to service improvement, monitoring and oversight of the WRAD Health service.
  • Strong relationship building capabilities, both internally and externally to the organisation
  • Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Completed mandatory training requirements to support the delivery of safe and effective service provision. Induction must be completed within a time frame as determined by the Operations Manager.
  • Perform their duties in accordance with WRAD Health’s Access and Equity Policy
  • Perform their duties in accordance with WRAD Health’s OH&S policy.
  • High-level organisational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Take a proactive approach to their own health, safety, staff well-being and the environment.
  • There will be expectation to travel from time to time with the outreach worker within business hours as required
