VAADA Annual Report 2025

We’re pleased to share VAADA’s 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of progress, collaboration and sector leadership. As a small but dedicated team, we’re proud of what has been achieved and grateful for the support of our members, partners and the broader AOD workforce.

This year saw major advances in harm reduction, including the launch of the Victorian Pill Testing Service and improvements to the early warning system. Our partnership with Harm Reduction Victoria on preparedness for potent synthetic opioids was nation leading work and helped establish a statewide expert group.

VAADA strengthened workforce capability through the AOD Leadership Accelerator Pilot Program with RMIT University, supporting 30 emerging leaders. In February, the 2025 VAADA Conference brought together more than 1100 delegates for two days of learning, featuring over 120 presentations and keynote speakers across seven streams.

VAADA drove sector improvement through 57 publications, campaigns and events, and featured in 152 media articles. These activities strengthened our advocacy, increased visibility of AOD issues, and supported informed public and political discussion to champion sector needs.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to reducing AOD harms across Victoria. We hope you enjoy reading this year’s Annual Report and reflecting on what we’ve achieved together.
