Victoria is missing its Consumer Leadership Agency

The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association (VAADA), has joined a call for the urgent creation of a Consumer Leadership Agency by the Victorian Government, in line with Recommendation 29 from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.

The call by VAADA and 14 other health organisations to establish Our Agency, is seen as a cornerstone to system transformation, through services and supports designed by and for people with lived and living experience of the treatment system.

The creation of an independent not for profit Consumer Led Agency must be prioritised in the upcoming State Budget to ensure that the progress of multiple recommendations from the Royal Commission relating to lived and living experience can be sustained and achieved.
