VAADA Annual Report 2024

Over the past year, the VAADA team has remained committed to addressing a disjointed and at times, fragmented service system. We have chosen to drive our efforts to advocate for meaningful reform and enhanced service delivery around access to treatment, data gaps, workforce sustainability, funding, and the integration of intersecting systems of care.

Our advocacy has included championing the establishment of drug-checking services in Victoria, calling for the creation of a Chief AOD Officer role, and raising awareness around preparedness for potent synthetic opioids like fentanyl and nitazenes. We have also engaged in vital conversations about the need for a comprehensive AOD Strategy for Victoria.

Thank you to our members and partners, for your generosity and ongoing commitment to supporting VAADA’s mission. We hope you enjoy reading this report and reflecting on the progress we have made together.
