Using data to change culture

This presentation will outline our discoveries using data from our systems, including Victorian Alcohol and Drug Collection (VADC) dataset, in shifting staff perceptions of data from ‘its not my job’ to ‘are the stats out yet”. In addition, it has improved service delivery, performance and staff satisfaction.
We will cover the three stages of activity and outcomes.
Stage 1 aim was to get staff engaged with VADC data and demonstrate how data can be used for multiple purposes.
Stage 2 was focused on how data is used to measure performance against targets and improve data integrity.
Stage 3 was the development of tools to support our practitioners, which included a caseload management tool to help staff manage their workload and provide oversight of activity.
The final section will demonstrate the outcomes of this work and include staff testimonials.
