About the role
This is a unique opportunity to lead a passionate, multidisciplinary team that meets people where they are, building trust, fostering inclusion, and supporting individuals experiencing complex challenges such as homelessness, mental health concerns, and AOD use.

As Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in shaping how the program operates day to day, ensuring services are delivered with warmth, professionalism, and care. Working closely with the Program Manager, you’ll guide a team of outreach workers and complex care coordinators who are dedicated to improving health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes in the local community.

You will:
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the AOD Outreach and Engagement Program, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed service delivery.
• Provide line management, mentoring, and professional development to a dedicated team of outreach workers and complex care coordinators.
• Strengthen relationships with local stakeholders and services to promote coordinated, community-led care.
• Model and promote best-practice harm reduction principles and an inclusive team culture.

Key Selection Criteria

About you
You’re a collaborative and grounded leader with a deep understanding of harm reduction, AOD work, and the importance of community connection. You have:
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (such as social work, mental health, psychology, or community development).
• At least 3–5 years experience leading or supervising multidisciplinary teams in AOD, community, or mental health settings.
• Strong understanding of co-occurring mental health and substance use issues.
• A compassionate, trauma-informed approach and the ability to build trust with people from diverse and marginalised backgrounds.

Experience supporting or working alongside peer or lived experience staff will be highly regarded.
