About the role
As a Senior Clinician Mental Health Alcohol and Drugs (MHAOD) Integration located in the Drugs and Alcohol Services (DAS) team, you will provide leadership and expertise in delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented clinical services. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, playing a pivotal role in coordinating care, providing clinical advice, and leading program development to improve outcomes for consumers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-informed, integrated assessment, treatment, and support for consumers, in line with best practices and Department of Health guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and seamless care delivery for consumers.
- Oversee accurate clinical documentation and data reporting in the electronic record.
- Lead and contribute to the development of integrated MHAOD clinical practices, operational procedures, and workforce capability building.

As a leader, you will be committed to professional development, program innovation, and delivering high-quality services to support both consumers and the MHDAS workforce.
Key Requirements:
- Qualifications and professional experience meet relevant EBA classification
- Proven ability to provide leadership in clinical practice and program development.
- Experience in working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external service providers.
- Strong clinical documentation, data reporting, and outcomes measurement skills.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and mentoring of staff.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential
- Formal professionally recognised qualifications in Psychiatric Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology (including endorsement to practice as clinical or forensic psychologist)
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) if applicable
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Qualifications and professional experience meet relevant EBA classification
- Demonstrated advanced level of clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of people with co-occurring mental illness and substance use or addiction
- Demonstrated leadership skills including engaging staff in capability building and ongoing clinical service quality improvement
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience sufficient to lead the professional development of others
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022
- Sound working knowledge of Recovery Principles, Integrated Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment Principles, Harm Reduction Principles, Family Inclusive Practice Principles, Trauma Informed Care; and a demonstrated capacity to implement these
- Information technology skills
- Experience participating in organisational change and/or service development
