About the role

This position sits within the Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Outreach Cluster which delivers value-based care through codesign and by developing the capacity and capability for teams to work to the top of their scope of practice and in self-organising ways.

The Practice Excellence Coach is responsible for the clinical governance and quality leadership of the AOD Outreach teams ensuring staff are supported to deliver harm reduction programs which are evidence based and client centred.

This position works at cohealth sites and may include going on outreach to support staff performance.

Your duties include:

  • Provide clinical governance and leadership to support continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence for AOD and Outreach services
  • Provide individual and group-based supervision, reflective practice, and mentorship to team members to ensure safe, evidenced-based best practice is undertaken by all staff members
  • Develop the discipline's capacity and capability to work to the top of their scope of practice and in self-organising ways
  • Work in conjunction with management in relation to staff recruitment, onboarding and performance management
  • Develop, implement and evaluate projects as appropriate for the organisation, sector and team including research projects

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health-related, or extensive industry experience that may offset lower formal qualifications
  • Experience working in community or public health with marginalised populations
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in an AOD service
