Safe and Supported: Building Workplace Capacity to Manage Family Violence

13 June 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

$85 – $125

About the workshop

This half-day workshop is designed to support workplaces to implement programs for the prevention of family violence in a safe and supportive way. It builds the knowledge and confidence of managers and staff in designated family violence support roles to provide a supportive and appropriate response to disclosures of violence that may arise during or after implementation of training and workplace change programs (such as Take a Stand).

What is a workplace response?

Workplace responses are formal and informal systems that support a workplace and its staff to address family violence as a workplace issue. They can include: a commitment statement, family violence policy, family violence leave, family violence procedures including responding to perpetrators in the workplace, workplace safety plan and safety plan guidelines, family violence contact officers, training for managers and leaders, incorporation of family violence information in new staff induction procedure, and employee assistance programs.

What does this workshop cover?

Who should attend?

This workshop is designed to be delivered to workplace managers, human resources and family violence contact staff. It is also designed to be tailored and delivered to workplaces in-house.
