This interactive workshop is designed to create a shared understanding the role substance use can play in family violence situations
- The prevalence of the intersection of AOD and family violence, what does the evidence say
- How can substance use be considered a survival strategy for the victim survivor
- What are existing perspectives around substance use that enable substance use coercion

- How does substance use coercion impact client engagement, family violence safety planning and substance use treatment planning?
This event is a collaboration between Turning Point, Odyssey and VAADA. The day will be presented by:

Date: Monday, February 24, 2020
Time: 10.00am – 3.00pm. (register at 9.30am for a 10.00am start)
Venue: Cromwell STREAT, 66 Cromwell Street, Collingwood. Cromwell STREAT works to stop youth homelessness and disadvantage, one mouthful at a time. STREAT offers disadvantaged youth aged 16-25 a supported pathway from the street to a sustainable livelihood. This 1860’s manor turned 80 seat cafe has a beautiful garden with striped hammocks, deck chairs, outdoor seating, coffee roastery, artisan bakery, meeting spaces and function rooms.
Limited parking is available. Cromwell STREAT is a 9 min walk from North Richmond station.
Cost of $100 includes Eventbrite processing fee, handouts, and catering (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)

- Registrations may be cancelled up to 7 days prior to the day of the workshop with a full refund.
- Fees are payable, and will not be refunded for cancellations on the day of the training or for non-attendance on the day.
