Forensic Fundamentals Training

Are you a Victorian AOD worker? If so, you are eligible for this complimentary training.

As part of the implementation of the new Forensic Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Service Delivery Model and Victoria’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Workforce Strategy 2018‑2022, three new state-funded forensic specific training courses for alcohol and other drug (AOD) clinicians within Victoria will be delivered by Caraniche. Sessions will be delivered on a registration of interest basis.

Forensic Fundamentals Training 

A half day online clinical course designed to increase knowledge to support forensic practice, in the following areas:

  • The RNR model of offender-rehabilitation
  • The links between AOD use and offending
  • Building motivation in forensic clients
  • Treatment interfering behaviours when managing forensic clients
  • The importance of setting boundaries with clients
  • Strategies to increase safety
  • The value of clinical supervision and reflective practice
  • Stress management and self-care
  • Applying collaborative practice
