Pharmacotherapy Clinic

Nurse Practitioner- Pharmacotherapy

15.2 hours per fortnight (0.2 FTE)

Fixed Term Position- 6 Months

 

The Position

The Pharmacotherapy Clinic multidisciplinary team at Bendigo Community Health Services includes a clinic nurse, nurse practitioner, a doctor, and peer support, working in close collaboration with community pharmacists and external services. The team operates with a harm reduction and client-centred approach, providing opioid agonist treatment (OAT) and comprehensive care coordination for individuals experiencing opioid dependence.

The successful applicant will provide comprehensive, evidence based advanced nursing practice, including physical examinations, initiating diagnostic assessments, prescribing medications and undertaking procedural skills and treatments. The role will also involve referring to other clinicians.

Key Selection Criteria

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • A current Nurse Practitioner with a Primary Care Prescribing Notation under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act, Department of Health, Victoria.
  • Evidence of advanced nursing knowledge and clinical skills in AOD and Pharmacotherapy clinical practice.
  • Proven ability to practice collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication skills and proven interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership role and/or function in respect to advanced clinical practice nursing.
  • A current employee Working with Children Check and Driver’s Licence.
  • A willingness to obtain a satisfactory Police Check.
