We are a leading Victorian-based drug and alcohol treatment organisation. For more than 30 years, we have been helping people rebuild their lives in a safe, caring environment, supporting our clients wherever they are in the recovery process.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapist to join our team located in Barwon on a full-time permanent basis, the role will be on a rotating roster and include weekend work.

The Role
The Therapist will work with residents entering the Therapeutic Community to ensure they are prepared and engaged for ongoing treatment. The Therapist will be involved in community functioning and be required to fulfil tasks to ensure client and community needs are being addressed.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Take responsibility for the safe management of clients undertaking therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to creating an environment and culture of respect and honesty through actively seeking and integrating client feedback into all aspects of service delivery.
  • Provide a range of evidence - based therapeutic interventions and programs that meet the needs of the client inclusive of various modalities of individual and group sessions.
  • Facilitate group therapy and education seminars
  • Promote adherence to; the model of care (Community-as-Method), Cultural Safety, Inclusive Practice and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Develop and maintain community support networks.

Salary will be $42.94 per hour plus superannuation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Diploma level qualification with extensive experience. Bachelor's degree or higher in health-related discipline preferred.
  • Certificate IV (Four AOD Competencies for applicants with health-related degrees) or Diploma in AOD and Mental Health or the capacity to complete studies whilst in employment.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the drug and alcohol service system and the range of treatment options available, including knowledge of principles of harm minimisation as these relate to illicit drug use.
  • Group therapy facilitation
  • Ability and desire to engage in reflective practice
