The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Team Leader to join our Alcohol and Other Drugs Non-Residential Services team! You will be responsible for the oversight of the Mallee Non-Residential team through leading a high functioning team of practitioners to deliver Intake, AOD Assessment, Counselling and Care and Recovery services to marginalised persons experiencing difficulty with Alcohol and Other Drugs use.
Reporting to the Alcohol and Other Drugs Non-Residential Services Manager, this is a permanent full-time position, based in Mildura, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 6.
You will successfully
- Ensure processes related to each treatment type (Assessment, counselling, care & recovery coordination) are implemented that assist staff to provide consistent client focused service
- Ensure client progress and outcomes are monitored, assistance and specialist expertise provided to staff to resolve complex case management issues
- Develop productive relationships within the team and contribute to quality team performance and team well-being
- Participate in government, sector and other forums and initiatives where there is clinical relevance
- Contribute to all system reviews as requested
- Maintain knowledge of developments in AOD practices

Key Selection Criteria
You will have
- Bachelor of Human Services, Master of Social Work
- Diploma in Health or Community Services
- AOD Skill set or willing to obtain within 12 months
- Relevant experience in a social service environment
- Forensic Fundamentals
- A current and valid Working with Children's Check
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence
