Job Description
Access Health are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Social Worker to join our front of house social work team. The role of the front of house social work team is diverse and varied and the preferred candidate will have a ‘can do’ and collaborative attitude.
Activities include:
- providing a welcoming safe space for people who attend our services
- communicating complex health and systems information in clear and simple ways
- managing challenging behaviours and presentations including excellent de-escalation skills
- coordinating the care of people who use the services, advocacy, completing risk assessments and referrals
- overseeing health portfolios such as access to allied health clinics
- dental clinics and the NDIS, co-facilitating open drop in groups, supporting community events and more
- support the administrative functions of a busy medical practice including faxing, filing and document management, medicare billing, managing program email inboxes
This is a permanent part time position, 16 hours per week (2 days, Monday and Friday) located in St Kilda.
The Salvation Army is subject to public health orders. You may be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements.

Key Selection Criteria
The preferred candidate will have:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Social Services or similar • Relevant experience in a social service environment preferably the health, AOD, homelessness and/or mental health sector
- Excellent communication skills
- Value teamwork
- Commitment to client centred and trauma informed practices which are based in ethics, human rights and social justice principles
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
