Registered Psychiatric Nurse
- Permanent Part-time | 0.8 EFT (64 hours per fortnight) | Rotating Shifts

Ward 1 East consists of nine adult acute mental health beds, co-located with eight addiction medicine detox beds. These beds support consumers that benefit from a smaller acute, but lower dependency therapeutic environment.
About the role
The Registered Psychiatric Nurse is a valued and collaborative member of the multidisciplinary health care team at Eastern Health and is accountable for coordinating and delivering safe and comprehensive patient centred care while working competently within their scope of practice and in alignment with the Eastern Health and Nursing and Midwifery Board Practice Standards.
As RPN, you will be a valued and collaborative member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- We’re looking for someone with dual diagnosis capability and who would bring ideas, enthusiasm, passion and an ethos of patient-centred care to the team
- As RPN, you’ll be accountable for coordinating and delivery safe and comprehensive patient-centred care
- You will work within your scope of practice and in alignment with the Eastern Health and Nursing and Midwifery Board Practice Standards
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current registration with AHPRA (essential)
- Current/ recent mental health and AOD nursing experience (within Australia)
- High level communication, both written and verbal, demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with consumers, their families, and all health care professionals
- Demonstrated clinical skills aligned with experience and scope of practice
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- Post graduate qualifications in mental health qualifications and/ or AOD (desirable)
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
