Job Description

About Us

Since 1973, TaskForce has provided specialist support for people in serious need in Victoria. Our core services focus on addressing social issues of addiction, unemployment, mental health and high risk taking behaviours, supporting our clients to transition back into “mainstream” services and supports. The people who access our services have experienced significant disadvantage or a crisis in their lives and as a result are prevented from reaching their potential.

About the vacancy

This is a specialised role and would ideally suit an experienced clinician who has worked extensively with a forensic adult cohort with AOD issues in both individual and group-based programs. This role would join a multidisciplinary team of Psychologists, Social Workers and Clinicians in delivering service to a cohort of complex adults who have engaged in offending behavior. The Forensic Clinician will take a lead role in providing seamless and integrated treatment pathways for clients facing complex issues and who are involved in the criminal justice system.

About you

You will have at least 3 years experience in provision of AOD service delivery to complex forensic clients. You will have proven skills in the application of assessment, counselling, treatment planning and discharge planning of forensic AOD clients. You will have knowledge of harm minimisation, client-centred care and recovery-focused principles. Significant experience working with more complex AOD or dual diagnosis clients, with forensic clients, Child Protection and clients with family reunification orders is essential.

You will have a passion for working with people suffering from substance abuse and the ability to build strong rapport with your clients. You will be a proactive and engaging Counsellor, with specific drug and alcohol experience. Ideally will be tertiary qualified in counselling or social work and be equipped with a Certificate IV in AOD.

What TaskForce offer
In exchange, we will offer you generous employee benefits such as flexible work arrangements and salary packaging. We also offer an Employee Assistance Program, training and professional development opportunities and the chance to be part of a supportive and inclusive team.
