Job Description

This position is responsible in supporting clients participating in the Geelong Withdrawal Unit residential medicated withdrawal service, who are seeking to address their addiction to alcohol and / or other drugs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Facilitates the admission and discharge of clients
  • Monitors client's progress throughout their stay at the GWU and responds to clinical changes of client's presentation appropriately
  • Maintains accurate case notes and other required documentation
  • Provides an accurate handover to staff
  • Facilitates therapeutic group work

Key Selection Criteria

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Minimum Cert IV in AOD or the 4 core units
  • Experience in the AOD and/or MH Sectors
  • Experience and resilience in working with complex clients presenting with challenging behaviours
  • Availability to carry out sleep over role
  • A current Victorian Driver's licence
