Bridgelink is supported accommodation for women (with or without accompanying children) who are experiencing housing or alcohol and other drug issues. We work to empower women, reduce the drug-related harm they are suffering and help them achieve a stable, healthy life for themselves and their families.

About the role
We are seeking a values-driven AOD Case Worker to provide intensive AOD case management and outreach support to women* and women with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Barwon region (*those who identify as female).

You will successfully

  • Respond to enquiries and referrals in a flexible and timely manner, as per AOD & MH Services Barwon protocols
  • Assess women and women with children (including forensic clients) utilising approved screening, assessment and risk assessment tools
  • Include family and significant others in the process with client consent, using family inclusive interventions as per Program protocol
  • Provide outreach services and support to women and any accompanying children
  • Develop Individual treatment plans in collaboration with the client and in line with TSA AOD case management framework. Include regular reviews and exit planning
  • Make referrals and link clients into appropriate community supports as per their care plans
  • Provide brief interventions including OD prevention
  • Facilitate groups at GWU and in the community in line with program timetable.
  • Maintain accurate client data collection as per procedural guidelines and as directed by the AOD & MH Manager and Non Residential Services Team Leader
  • Maintain knowledge of AOD related developments and service sector reforms

We currently have a permanent part time positions available, 30.4 hours per week based at our AOD Service in Corio. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 5.

Key Selection Criteria

You will have

  • Experience in delivery of AOD/Mental Health client interventions
  • Experience working with/a solid understanding of the drivers and consequences of substance use/misuse for women
  • Experience in the Homelessness sector
  • Minimum 4 AOD competency units
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
