Grants available for Victorians holding an International Overdose Awareness Day event or activity

If you are holding an International Overdose Awareness Day 2018 activity or event in Victoria, Penington Institute is here to help.

Thanks to philanthropic support, grants of $100 to $500 are available for Victorian individuals and organisations holding an activity or event in Victoria on or near 31 August this year.

Simply request a grant form by emailing info@penington.org.auThen complete the form and return it to Penington Institute by 5pm Wednesday 25 July.

You will know one week later if you have been successful.

All events or activities, big or small, are important. Gathering a few people together to mark the occasion can lead to change and change is what we need.

In recent years individuals and organisations around the world have held memorial services, events featuring speakers with lived experience, protests and communications campaigns as well as naloxone education and training sessions.

The IOAD website features event/activity tips and tools including educational posters, infographics, campaign resources plus links to order badges and wristbands.

With a bit of support, you can help make International Overdose Awareness Day 2018 bigger and better than ever.

Let’s raise awareness, end the stigma and have an open discussion about the policies and practices that can save lives.

The more people and organisations that get involved the more we can achieve together, so please share this email with anyone you think may be interested.

If you have any suggestions or questions, please email info@penington.org.au or you can contact me directly at j.ryan@penington.org.au.

Best of luck for International Overdose Awareness Day 2018!

Yours sincerely,
