Victorian AOD Service Provider’s Conference October-November 2020: Adaptations and Innovations in the AOD Sector

The next Service Provider’s Conference will be held digitally as a four-part webinar series over October and November. It will look at some current topical issues within the Victorian AOD sector. The sessions will have valuable contributions from local, interstate and international speakers. The sessions will incorporate cross-panel discussions and audience Q & A opportunities.

We encourage CEOs, managers and frontline AOD staff within funded organisations to attend.

Description: Telehealth has become increasingly popular due to its convenience and ability to increase accessibility to consumers. It has accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is likely that telehealth is here to stay. This webinar looks into the importance of telehealth, key takeaways from the guide, and the challenges involved with telehealth. There will be opportunities for audience questions as well.

Webinar 2: Harm Reduction Innovation and Challenges: What we can learn from other jurisdictions

Tuesday 27 October 2020 10:30am-12:30pm.

This webinar will investigate harm reduction measures being used in Vancouver, presented by Jane Buxton Professor and Director MPH Practicum, UBC, School of Population and Public Health; Physician Epidemiologist, Harm reduction lead, BCCDC. This will be followed by a 30 minute presentation with Professor Dan Lubman (Executive Clinical Director, Turning Point) and Steve Michelson (Campaign Director, Rethink Addiction) to hear about the SBS series Addicted Australia set to air 10 November and the potential to make addiction treatment and research a national priority.
