$160.00 – $595.00Event Navigation
The Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association’s biennial conference brings together the diverse Alcohol and Other Drugs Sector as well as fellow travellers in health, education, justice and community sectors to share ideas and experience for the benefit of our clients.
The conference provides a space for clinicians, researchers, peer support, case managers, nurses, and counsellors etc. to present their work to their peers. This conference is focused on the evolving landscape of both AOD service demand and system design. It emphasizes the need to establish linkages with a range of stakeholders and greater adaptation within the broader community sector, governments and other relevant stakeholders.
Our 2017 conference saw over 400 delegates attend our sold out event, with over 90 oral presentations and workshops. The 2019 conference will feature over 110 separate presentations covering a diverse range of topics focusing on at risk populations, treatment, policy, workforce development, family violence and peer support. Guest speakers include Professors’ David Nutt and Fiona Measham from the UK, Victorian Treaty Advancement Commissioner Jill Gallagher and Professor Amanda Baker from the University of Newcastle.
Early bird tickets can be found here and will be on sale until December 21. As well as attending the conference, registrants will also be able to secure their place on a tour of Melbourne’s Medically Supervised Injecting Facility.
We are also having a conference dinner down the road at Two Fat Indians on the evening of Feb 14, which is a chance for delegates to get together and socialise in a less formal setting.
We look forward to you taking part in what should be a significant event.
