The number of people dying from unintentional overdose in Australia has been steadily increasing for more than 15 years.
Victoria hasn’t been spared the effects of our overdose crisis.
Deaths from heroin are surging, and their impact is being felt especially hard in rural and regional communities.
Meanwhile, the rise of pharmaceutical opioids as a driver of unintentional deaths has brought new challenges.
If these challenges are to be met, they require bold thinking.
From real-time prescription monitoring, to the trial of the Medically Supervised Injecting Room and the Naloxone Subsidy Initiative, Victoria is at the centre of new ways of thinking about drugs in Australia.
This seminar is your opportunity to learn about what is being done, ask questions, and participate in discussion with recognised experts and people with lived experience.
