This year the Monash Addiction Research Centre is launching a new webinar series focusing on changing the conversation around addiction. The webinars will be held quarterly, bringing together a range of experts and voices to discuss and unpack current issues.

Join us for our first webinar Making addiction a national priority – the need to end stigma on Tuesday, 29 March from 11am – 12pm. You’ll hear from a panel of experts and people with lived experience discussing what we can do to address stigma related to addiction and improve health outcomes, and how we can make responding to addiction a national policy priority.

Our panellists for the event are:

  • Shanna Whan, Founder, Sober in the Country & 2022 Australian of the Year Local Hero
  • Mary O’Hagan, Executive Director of Lived Experience, Mental Health and Wellbeing Division, Victorian Department of Health
  • Caterina Giorgi, CEO, Foundation for Alcohol Research & Education
  • Dr Michael Doyle, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Research Excellence in Indigenous Health and Alcohol, University of Sydney
  • Dr Adam Bourne, Associate Professor of Public Health at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health & Society, La Trobe University
