This workshop provides targeted training on responding to domestic and family violence for AOD workers in low threshold settings, such as NSP’s, drop in centres, and crisis centres.

Understand DFV, the complex interplay of risk factors and its relationship with AOD use.  Learn how to respond to DFV including informal screening, basic risk assessment, basic safety planning and responding to spontaneous disclosure.

Feel comfortable managing special issues, such as children, workplace safety, effective referral and self care.
