AOD and the LGBTIQ+ community

14 July 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

Members of LGBTIQ+ communities are at greater risk of experiencing AOD-related harms and many face specific challenges relating to AOD and their health more broadly. Members of these communities can also be wary of accessing services due to concerns about prejudice and discrimination.

This webinar will explore these issues and the service needs of LGBTIQ+ communities.

Associate Professor Adam Bourne will present an overview of the findings of the Private Lives study – Australia’s largest survey of the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people to date.

Lucy Burnett from Thorne Harbour Health will deliver a training primer on service delivery for LGBTIQ+ people based on a larger program recently delivered via the Elevate! program.
