Victorian AOD Workforce Development Strategy (2012-2015) – AOD sector consultation
VAADA has been asked by the Mental Health, Drugs and Regions Division of the Victorian Department of Health to undertake consultation with the Victorian AOD sector to obtain feedback on the draft Workforce Development Strategy (2012-2015) that has been developed by KPMG.

VAADA appreciates that Victorian AOD sector stakeholders are currently involved in a significant amount of work related to the Whole of Victorian Government AOD strategy and the AOD sector reform processes currently underway, and we understand that consultation for the workforce development strategy will add to this workload. However the development of the strategy is an important component informing the AOD sector reform and it is with this in mind that we require broad sector input.

DH KPMG Questionnaire
The Department of Health and KPMG have also developed a series of questions to guide the consultations.

You will note that the DH questionnaire consists of a series of questions covering the broad scope of the strategy document. The first 3 questions relate to the strategy as a whole, with the subsequent questions developed to respond to each of the key themes.

Included are a series of short / medium / long term activities, preconditions and enablers attached under each of the strategies. DH has stated that this level of detail has been included to provide some context and understanding of what each strategy is referring to. Importantly the key areas we are seeking comment and feedback relate directly to the strategies that support each theme, with KPMG having a particular interest in what barriers you believe may need to be overcome.

There are tight timelines for the development of the workforce strategy. It would be greatly appreciated if you could complete the online questionnaire by COB Friday 30th September 2011
